The Mystique of Prayer Jewelry

Jews from all walks of religious backgrounds love wearing Jewish jewelry. And honestly, why is that? Maybe it's because people love being able to spot other Jews who are strangers just walking down the street because of their jewelry pieces. Maybe people want that constant reminder of where they come from when they lightly grab onto the pendants around their necks. Whatever the reason is, Jewish jewelry is a long-lasting trend that people love and can't seem to get enough of. Some non-Jews have even caught onto these trends too.

Essentially, Kabbalah is mystical ideologies of ancient Judaism. Stars such as Madonna have publicly shown serious interest in kabalistic philosophies. Kabbalah jewelry with Hebrew prayers and phrases are undeniably as popular as they are, partly due to celebrity attention. Common phrases that can be found on Jewish jewelry are "Shema Yisrael" and "Ana Bekoach".  These types of necklaces are not just symbolically meaningful, but now serve as fashion statements. Stores such as Urban Outfitters have sold Hamsa necklaces and other similar jewelry.

Having been around for generations, Hamsas and Stars of David never go out of style and make beautiful jewelry pieces as well. Rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings with Jewish prayers and symbols can be found all over the world today. If you want to get an idea of what some of these jewelry pieces could look like, take a look at our gorgeous Jewish Jewelry and Prayer Jewelry collection.
